Harnessing the power of collaborative philanthropy, AVPN will manage a Pooled Fund to strengthen primary healthcare systems, thereby mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 and future pandemics in Southeast Asia.

Introduction To
The Fund
The first of its kind in Southeast Asia, the AVPN Philanthropic Pooled Fund will be focused on supporting healthcare systems in rural and hard-to-reach urban areas in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Through this fund, unrestricted funding and operating grants will be disbursed to Non-Profit Organisations (NPO) working to strengthen primary healthcare systems and build resilience against current and future pandemics.

who is eligible to apply?
Organisation Status
- Registered Charity or Non-Profit Organisation (Applicants may be registered outside of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines as long as operations and use of grant is applied in those markets)
- Incorporated for at least 3 years
- Cleared from all global sanctions lists, nor blacklisted by any UN or international agency
- Full compliance to PCA (Singapore), FCPA (US) or any equivalent anti-corruption laws
Impact Areas
- Contribute to strengthening the access & delivery of primary healthcare. Examples:
- Building capacity of workers, facilities, equipment
- Developing data management systems and technologies for last mile provision
- Supporting intermediaries & capacity builders
- Build resilience against pandemics through response & recovery efforts. Examples:
- Increasing vaccine distribution capacity
- Distributing PPE, therapeutics, and/or COVID-related medication more equitably
- Building COVID-related healthcare infrastructure & equipment
- Mitigating the effect of COVID-19 on treatments of other diseases
- Scaling R&D around COVID-related medication, testing technology, or vaccinations
Financial Stability
& Ask
- Minimum 2 years track record of financial accounts
- Appropriate governance structure in place
- Minimum grant ask of USD 100,000 and maximum of USD 300,000
